Clove new weapon against Cancer

Clove is the novel weapon to fight Cancer with. Going by the results of scientists in UAE, the anti-cancer agents in the clove plant proves to be highly helpful in lining up a new series of drugs to combat the fatal disease.

A team of scientists at UAE University (UAEU) confirmed that the clove extract was tested on four cancer cell lines cervical carcinoma, T-cell lymphoma, human neuroblastoma and human leukemia. They were speaking at the 10th Annual Research Conference in the UAE.

One of the researchers was quoted as saying, “The cytotoxic effects of individual compounds on cancer cells within the clove extract, has been studied. Understanding the mechanisms with which these purified compounds induce apoptosis of cancer cells is interesting, and may help in the development of new drugs in the fight against cancer.”

Spices are known to contain anti-carcinogenic properties. Clove is one such spice. Its extract contains an agent capable to kill cancer cells. The researchers said to have used the extracts prepared from the clove plant on the cancer cell to see its cytotoxic impacts and found positive results.
