•    Water and seasonal change are also important factors affecting your hair.
•    Different hairs have different care needs.

It is vital to understand that hair care is a procedure that involves three main steps. These are – oiling, conditioning and cleansing. Keeping these in mind the following natural remedies prove to be quite helpful.

Oiling your hair –

•    For dry hair, a hot coconut oil massage, followed by a 5min hot towel wrap, works wonders, leaving hair shiny and strong.
•    Some hibiscus petals, soaked overnight in coconut oil when rubbed on the scalp make dull hair shiny and strong.
•    Amla is an excellent hair tonic and promotes pigmentation, thus preventing the greying of hair. Dry Amla pieces when boiled in 5 spoons of coconut oil massaged properly on the scalp, leaves hair completely nourished. This shall also promote hair growth.

Conditioning your hair –

•    Beer is an excellent conditioner for normal hair. Take half a cup of beer and mix two tea spoons of lemon to it. Apply for five minutes and then wash away to find your hair bouncy and voluminous.
•    A cup of curd with a few drops of lemon juice, when applied for 15mins on your hair, will not only make oily hair more smooth and silky but will also help cure dandruff.
•    Henna is a time tested hair conditioner. It not only gives a lovely colour to your hair but also makes them soft and shiny. A paste of henna with 2 spoons of curd, 4 spoons of lemon juice and one egg, when applied on hair for an hour and then washed away, does wonders for all types of hair.
•    Lemon juice alone can also be applied for on hair for an hour and then washed off with shampoo. The shine that follows will be great and there’s also the benefit of dandruff free hair.
•    Make a paste of equal amounts of amla and reetha powder, soaked in warm water. Apply it and leave on hair for three hours, then wash off later. This shall help you get rid of dandruff and will cleanse the scalp as well.

Cleansing your hair –

•    Amla and reetha pieces can be soaked overnight in half a litre of warm water. This can later be strained and the water can be used instead of shampoo, to wash hair and cleanse the scalp.
•    After washing hair completely, put a few drops of lemon juice in the last but one mug of water. Rinse hair with it and then finally with one last mug of plain water. See them shine as they dry up.
