The term asthma originates from Greek word, which means “breathlessness.” A chronic respiratory disorder, the asthma results in acute attacks characterized by breath shortness; a feeling of being unable to get enough air regardless of your constant efforts.

Coughing; expectoration of stringy, sticky sputum and a feeling of tightness in the chest are the com-mon symptoms caused due to asthma.

1.Asmatica is an anti-spasmodic and antihistamine. It comes handy in preventing acute attacks for around  two weeks.

2.Chamomile is a gentle antihistamine and is helpful in preventing asthma attacks. While, Coleus or forskolin is prescribed for those who have high blood pressure and often have asthma attacks.

3.Elderberry or Sambucol boast of relieving of nasal congestion and fever.

4.Ephedra helps to open bronchial passages and intensifies breathing. You should drink eight glasses of water a day while you are taking this herb.

5.Ginger helps in deactivating platelet activating factor (PAF) which claims to promote allergic reactions.

6.Green tea comes contained with theophylline, which claims to open bronchial passages.
7.If you are using an inhaler for asthma, Hawthorn can help relieve of tissue damage in the heart, liver and pancreas.
