The yellow fever or jaundice is not as scary or dreaded as it used to be many years ago. Thanks to the medical advancement and the herbs lying in our kitchen that it can easily be treated now.

So, if ever you are afflicted with the jaundice, don’t panic. The first thing you have to do is stop the intake of spicy and greasy foods for at least six months. Though consuming non-spicy food is not at all exciting, it is the best alternative for body detoxification and may help lose weight by eating healthy.

Drink as much fluids as you can specially water. Plus, consuming lot of vegetable juices such as beet root, tomato, carrot and bitter gourd, also prove highly useful for the treatment of jaundice.

I can understand, you must be feeling the bitterness of the juices, but the bitterness can be turned into sweet if you add some lime juice to these juices. The addition not only makes the juices taste better but also helps you in the treatment of the disease.

Jaundice can also be treated with bottle gourd, another vegetable. Stream some part of it, beautify it with mild seasoning or steam along with tomatoes and make a pulp of it to be taken in the form of a soup. Add some lime juice to it and put in a few pepper before eating.

Ginger also plays a big role in fighting against the jaundice. Add ginger to all your meals as a seasoning. You can add ginger to vegetables also while preparing a soup.

Besides, drink some fresh sugarcane juice. Home-made barley water helps treat jaundice as well.  Put few barley seeds in 1 liter of water, when the water begins to boil up, reduce the flame and let it boil for almost 20 minutes. Now, keep the water to cool and to make it as a refreshing drink add some honey and consume it twice a day.

Since, jaundice makes us physically weak and low on energy, it is a must to have lots of complex carbohydrates such as fresh vegetables and fruits. If you eat a fruit every hour, you will be provided with the natural sugars along with the required energy.
