Today the world is in the grip of many a fatal disease. Stroke is one of them. This is a major public health problem, which has been causing the death of around 5mln people every year and leading to severe disability.

Though disease of different kinds have always been hovering over us, thanks to herbal remedies that come like a quick-fix all the time.  Now a recent study claims that intake of two cups of green tea a day prove to be highly helpful in lessening the threat of ischemic stroke.

Though we all have some or other kind of beverage, consuming tea has always been a healthier option. All kinds of tea benefit us from health point of view, but they are not as effective as green tea is in lessening risk of ischemic stroke.

Prof. Colin Binns, School of Public Health, Curtin University, Western Australia, was quoted to have said, “People who drink at least one cup of green tea a day, can reduce their risk of ischemic stroke”

The study was conducted in China as it has high populace. Being highly populated, it also comes with high rate of stroke and similar kind of lifestyle and diet.

The research was carried out on the patients who were afflicted with a stroke in Southern China. According to the study, it was found out that patients, who had at least single cup (180mls) of green tea a week, had little chances of having stroke, while, who consumed 2 or more cups of green tea a day, had considerable drop (by 60%) of having stroke of any kind.

This is the 1st study that has associated green tea intake with ischemic stroke. Long-term intake of green tea of at least one cup a day comes with the capacity of lessening the risk of Ischemic stroke, detailing 70% of all strokes that take place.
