History of Rasayana Shastra
‘Science of longetivity…’

Rasayana shastra is originated from Ayurveda itself. Ayurveda is fundamentally united with Indian philosophy and religion.
The influence of Rasayana Shastra is quite well described in all the ancient texts of Ayurveda. Specifically Veda or sacred books have deep reference of Rasayana Shastra. As it is well known that ‘Veda come into the category of ‘Shruti’. Something that been heard.
As it has been explained earlier how Ayurveda originated from the God himself, Indian religion believes the Veda are eternal transcendental sound vibrations. So, the origin of Veda can not be ascertained or questioned.
As a matter of fact, the Veda, the jivas, everything in this materialistic world is an emanation from the Lord. So, there is no question when the expansion took place. It is an eternal reality.
Whereas some evidence about rasayana is also found in ancient China around 3-4 century BC, the ideas of transmuting metal base exists in second to fifth century in Buddhist texts also. Again in 325 BC invasion of Alexander the Great on India also mentions the possibility of its existence from Greek culture. But the eternal existence of Veda proves that Rasayana Shastra is the origin of Ayurveda and none other.
