Ayurveda has always been using various metals, jewels and pearls as medicines for certain deficiencies and diseases. These elements are turned into calaxes or bhasmas for administration in different diseases. Calxes of gold, silver, copper and iron are quite popular.
Jewels or Ratnas including precious and semiprecious stones are used as drugs. As they have therapeutic properties.

 

 

 

Major Jewels are also called as Maharatnas.

Minor Jewels are called jas Upratnas.
