Muscle twitches, a.k.a. muscle fasciculation syndrome, are tiny uncontrolled movements comprising small areas of muscle or muscle fibers. Though they often have an effect on the muscles of your arms, feet, head, fingers, face, legs and other parts of body, they may also occur in any voluntary muscles, comprising those of the tongue.

As the name suggests it is a benign, rather exasperate condition, which luckily, doesn’t move to a more critical neurological disorder. Not associated to muscle cramps, these twitches are too small to notice. Eye muscles are the most common area of twitching.

The best part of these twitches is that they are harmless, and vanish after some time. Most of the people experience them in their normal course of life.

Tips to manage the twitching sensation

Stop consuming caffeine daily, instead swap it for fresh water or fruit juices; it will help you deal with the problem of dehydration.

Try to relax to ease the stress levels caused by muscle twitching. Aromatherapy plays a great role in this case. Lavender oils used in candles or in a diffuser also help to reduce stress levels. Besides, yoga exercises also help relax your body and mind.
