 Obesity is a condition of the human body in which fat accumulates under the skin and around some of the internal organs. The conditions and the side effects vary from person to person but the basic fact is that the fatter a person, the more lethargic and slower he/she becomes.

 
Maintaining one’s health becomes nearly impossible when one is obese. There might be multiple health problems that trouble the person. Even exercise becomes a task which makes losing weight very difficult. This leads to tension and also results in lack of nutrition in the muscles. When fat accumulates on the chest area it affects the internal organs also.
 
To lose weight and cure obesity, there are some simple tips which can be followed at home. To start with, one should be careful about the food one eats and ensure that it is not oily or greasy. One should move as much as possible and incorporate some form of exercise as a routine. 
 
Breathing exercises and yoga can be done for a healthy mind and a toned body. Morning walks are another easy way to keep fit. Easy exercise that can be done at home is push ups and sit ups as these tone the thighs, buttocks and abdomen.
 
Smoking and consumption of alcohol should be stopped as this not only adds calories but ruins the mechanism of the body. Any kind of sweets has to be avoided at all costs and also any food item which has a high content of carbohydrates. One should consume as much fibre as possible as well as wheat, soy, barley and maize. 
 
Non vegetarian food is acceptable in limits but red meat should be avoided. Another important thing to be done is to drink a lot of water as it helps flush out the toxins in the body and helps to control obesity. Vegetables and fruits like carrot, papaya and apple have important nutrients and help one keep fit. Raw or cooked cabbage is great to lose weight as it reduces the conversion of sugar and carbohydrates into fat. One should use oils like groundnut oil or sunflower oil to cook.
 
To ensure proper digestion of food one should drink luke warm water after meals. Having luke warm water with lemon empty stomach in the morning is also very beneficial and helps reduce fat in the body. A mixture of two teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey and pepper with water can be consumed for effective weight maintenance. 
 
One should not eat two meals in a day; instead one should eat 4-5 small meals each with a gap of 2-3 hours in a day. This ensures that the body gets regular supply of food and does not crave for fatty foods.
 
Spices like cinnamon, black pepper are also good to lose weight. Eating tomatoes for breakfast is very healthy.
 
Ayurvedic medicines like Triphala and Shudh Guggulu are very helpful to cure the problem of obesity. The leaves of Jujube (Indian plum) can be soaked overnight and this water should be consumed the next day on an empty stomach. This if continued for a month can help lose weight. 
 
Aloe Vera is also very beneficial to lose weight. Ginger is excellent to burn fats in the body and also controls the level of cholesterol in the body, thus it should be used while cooking food. Drinking green tea is also beneficial for obesity control. 
 
Horse gram has a high content of iron and helps in controlling obesity. These can be soaked in water overnight and this water should be consumed on an empty stomach in the morning.
 
One should always try to be de-stressed and tension free. Lead an optimistic life as stress leaves a negative effect on the body thus resulting in weight gain. Keeping the above extremely beneficial eating tips in mind, and regularly following them, helps control obesity and the problems associated with it.  Proper food habits coupled with a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise will certainly keep you fit.
