The term corn refers to toughened patches on the skin that have a conical shape, with the tip pointed into the foot. Basically, there are two kinds of corns. One is hard corn and the other is soft corn. Hard corns appear on the top of the toes or on the outer side of the little toes while soft corns appear between the toes. Severe pain occurs when some pressure is put on the corn and the tip touches the foot tissue.
