The chain of Apollo hospitals across the country has decided to support Ayurveda, India’s most ancient system of medicine. The age-old system of medicine has been surrounded by doubts and scepticism due to lack of scientific research. Against this backdrop,  Apollo hospitals’ research in Ayurveda alongside other systems of medicine will help prove the traditional system as reliable and scientific as conventional medicines.

Confirming the news, chairman of the Apollo Hospital chain Prathap C. Reddy said:

“The Indian system of medicine has faced many roadblocks due to lack of enough research. We are set to carry out scientific study on ayurveda and other systems of medicine.”

Medical communities from many countries have often questioned the authenticity and scientific evidences to support theses of alternative medicines. In some countries like US people have claimed that these Indian medicines contain heavy metals in the excess and also claimed that these medicines do not have bases.

To clear these doubts and questions, Apollo hospital has now took up a challenge and will carry out detail research on ayurveda in their hospitals across the country. Once the results come out, hospital will also offer ayurvedic treatments to willing patients. Hospital is also planning to set up ayurveda centres once they prove the scientific validation for alternative treatment.
