AYUSH Dept steps up to improve Unani System of Medicine

The Department of AYUSH plans to implement numerous Central Sector Schemes and Centrally Sponsored Schemes for the promotion and development of AYUSH systems, comprising the Unani System of Medicine.

Schemes to be implemented are as follows:

1.    Upgrading of dispensaries and hospitals under the National Rural Health Mission     (NRHM).
2.    Training Programmes comprising Continuing Medical Education.

3.    Cataloging, digitalization and Acquisition of manuscripts, etc.

4.    Development and upgradation of institutions.

5.    Organization of Seminars/Workshops.

6.    Support for research studies/projects.

Presently there are allocations for the AYUSH systems en bloc and separate system-wise allocations aren’t made. Plus, the allocation under different schemes of the Department is founded on the need hinted by the State Governments in their Project Implementation Plans (PIP) and the use of funds by the State Governments in the prior years.
