Drinking tea everyday keeps heart trouble away: Study

Through 47 published studies, on effects of caffeinated drinks, Independent dietician, Dr Carrie Ruxton at King’s College, London, has further strengthened the findings that caffeinated drinks like tea, coffee and cocoa are good for the heart, mind and longevity.
 
These drinks have already been proven to be rich in antioxidants and the recent study by Ruxton proves that it is also quite beneficial for the heart, mental functioning, alertness, and short term memory.
 
In three of her studies involving 90,000 patients, Ruxton found that an intake of four cups of tea or coffee everyday reduces the threat of cardiovascular diseases.
 
Another of her study which involved 26,500 middle-aged smokers hinted that the men who took two glasses of tea everyday had a 20 percent lesser chance of getting a heart stroke.
 
Ruxton carried out her study with an aim to mitigate the false beliefs that should these drinks. She said:
 
"People who cut out caffeinated drinks may miss out on the potential health benefits of the compounds they contain."
 
She even went on to say that tea and coffee were better than juices for kids and they should not be stopped from having these drinks by the parents. Tea is rich in natural antioxidants which protects the body from harmful free radicals.
 
 
Experts have also supported her study and many believe that eight cups of tea everyday is very helpful in keeping heart trouble away. It also enhances mental health and concentration plus alertness.
