Golden Triangle scheme clears Ayurvedic formulations for 8 diseases

Out of 38 Ayurvedic preparations for eight disease conditions, 20 formulations have been provided for the pre-clinical research to the CSIR under a Partnership Scheme called the Golden Triangle. the project has been launched with an avowed aim to develop new medicines validate the Ayurvedic medicines.

A total of 10 Formulations have been reported back so far in a Status Report. These includes ayurvedic formulations for insomnia - tagradi kwatha, joint disorders - singhanada guggulu, nirgundi tail, osteoporosis - lakshadi guggulu, BPH - gokshuradi guggulu, ADHD - brahmi ghrita, hyper tension - GTP-HN-1, dyslipidemia - haritkyadi churna, anxiety neurosis - ashwagandha churna, ADHD – medhya. The formulations in pre clinical form for all these medicines are in the process in the medical institutions, as per the sources.
 
ICMR, CSIR, Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha, Department of Ayush are working in partnership for the validation of the traditional medicines scientifically. The motto behind all that is to bring up useful and harmless Unani, Homeopathic, Siddha and Ayurvedic medication to all and also to research and bring out new drugs of importance.
 
The project is on the unique idea is in progres. It is aimed at  bridging the gap between the resourceful traditional medicines and the modern ones so that the vast resources of Indian traditional medicines can be keep pace with the modern and allopathic system. The Golden triangle has modern science, modern medicines and the rich traditional medicinal at its disposal to come out with a synthesis of all these assets. The protocols for the different diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporesis, HIV/AIDS, dyslipidemia and hypertension have been provided by CCRAS to the ICMR for a revision.
