Healthy, clean colon key to good health
By Meenakshi Narang
All the reason behind our chronic headaches, fatigue, arthritis and ugly cellulote is our clogged intestinal tracts with stubborn feacal matter.
And the way to have a clean and healthy colon is to simply flush them with warm water or with the help of supplements or laxatives. This indeed is going to bring the person in a wonderful shape and health too, as stated by Kim Dupre, the owner of Wellville Healing Arts Center in Durham, N.C.
Contrary to this statement, many gastroenterologists are of opinion that healthy colons are self-cleaning and do not require any cleansing purports. John I. Allen, a Minnesota gastroenterologist states that claims for colonics and other forms of cleansing are just a way to play with people's fears and ignorance.
Recent times have witnessed ‘colon cleansing’ and its propagation. Medical experts refute any such claims and brand such news just as gimmicks. In fact US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have warned such asserters of colon cleansers about their uncorroborated claims.
Experienced practitioners of colonics follow the procedure of infusing about 20 gallons of warm water into rectum and then flushing out it along with fecal matter. They maintain the fact that they are akin to personal trainers for the colon, acting mere as health guides.
Coming to a consensus, it is generally agreed that a dietary overhauling needs to be done to avoid gastrointestinal problems and lower the risk of colon cancer. Due to sedentary lifestyle, weakened abdominal muscles and lack of fibrous diets, a well-balanced diet containing a good portion of soluble fiber and a calcium supplement is in dire need to keep colon in a healthy shape.
