One of the world's most famous thinkers, Simon Singh, a best-selling author and Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker, says homeopathy doesn’t work and remedies-based on it shouldn’t be put for sale along with other treatments.

Simon Singh said that it was really very shocking to find that homeopathic remedies were being sold on chemists' shelves, and (For) the homeopathic remedies, a few of the herbal remedies don’t have any convincing evidence if they really work or not.

Homeopathy utilizes mineral, vegetable and animal sources in water. The "medicines" are very much diluted, to such an extent that it gets hard to detect original substance. Some of the doctors are of the opinion that water keeps the memory of the original substance held.

Alternative therapies are under the scanner since a Parliamentary inquiry was announced against the practitioners who boasted of curing cancer.
