India to have 700 new spas

Spa treatments have emerged as the ideal ways of treating physical and mental stress. It is fast emerging as the means where many stressed and lethargic looking professionals in the corporate and other businesses get fresh lease of life. As per the statistics, it is expected that around 700 new spas are likely to be opened over the next four years time.
A study conducted by the International Medical Travel Journal, clearly points out that the Indian wellness and health market is slated to grow by 25 percent every year. Estimates as collected by International Medical Travel Journal show that there are 2,300 big and medium spas currently operation in India and substantially new figure of around 700 will be added to the already existing one. It is amazing to note that many of multinational as well as India brands are likely to venture into this lucrative field.
Ideally speaking, spa activity involves herbal massages by professional masseurs; hair treatments; exotic herbal facials; scrubs; body wraps and many more. These have become increasingly popular in many industrial towns and cities across India. The very essence of Spa treatment dates back to ancient Greece, where natural baths were constructed around the volcanoes and hot water springs.
With the changing times, Spas have turned out to be a unique combination of ancient traditions and modern mechanical treatments. Though the water therapy is still out there, modernization has come into the picture. The range of treatment usually expands from few hours to one whole day.
