With the pandemic swine flu creating havoc globally, can the Siddha and Ayurveda curatives stay behind in tying up the H1N1 virus? Here is 'Ayusrem,' the herbal solution to the pandemic. The new drug has been invented as a result of the joint venture taken up by the Centre for Herbal Sciences (CHS) at the Madras University and the Ramoni Research Foundation (RRF). Its highly cost effective and zero side effect aspects are sure to make it widely accepted as the most ‘patient-friendly’ mode of treatment against swine flu.

The team of scientists behind the endeavour stated that the new mode of medicine had effectively cured ten cases of H1N1 attack. It has also been successful in providing relief to around three hundred influenza patients. The pill is thus claimed to be the new herbal solution both to the killer flu and also to other ordinary respiratory infections such as cough and cold.

Prof Raaman, the director of CHS and Dr K Balasubrahmanian, the Chief Executive Officer of RRF, the duo who headed the research, said that the virus preventive drug is the first of its kind to be extracted from a herbal source. They also added that a patent has been applied for.

The abundant presence of nutraceuticals present in the capsule makes it highly safe for human consumption. It is also packed with thirty-two herbal elements, which are found to be effective in curing the epidemic. The detailed report regarding the administered treatment on all the three hundred patients have been sent to the DCGI.
