Negating all caste, religion, color, religion and geographical barriers, Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev will conduct an Indian style ‘havan’ in Scotland. And not just havan, thousands of Yoga followers will also attend pranayam, an age-old Indian breathing exercise, session.

This will take place on an uninhabited island located on Northern Scotland in the waters of the Firth of Clyde. The owners of this island were Sam and Sunita Poddar, the ardent devotees of Swami Ramdev, who are the residents of Glasgow for the past 25 years. They have gifted this island to Patanjali Yog Peeth, thus to promote it as a spiritual health destination.

This mammoth havan ceremony and Pranayam session will be attended by a numerous people ranging from fitness addicts, doctors, scientists, spiritualists, devotees, businessmen, professionals, politicians to religious clergymen.

This congregation will commence the foundation of a Patanjali Yoga retreat and a family health holiday resort on this island, as stated by S.K. Tijarawala, the spokesperson for Swami Ramdev’s Patanjali Yog Peeth.

Little Cumbrae, also named the Peace Island, will be the first complete Patanjali Yog and Ayurveda retreat outside India. This island is about 1.25 sq km in area and is just 10 minute boat ride from the Scottish mainland.

Sunita Poddar, the international coordinator and trustee of the UK Patanjali Yog Peeth Trust, wishes to make this situate a worldwide destination of rejuvenating and healing powers of yoga, pranayam and ayurveda.
