Belamcanda chinensis is the particular substance, which has gripped the attention of all and sundry. Obtained from the root of a flower, this substance, according to the report of a research on prostate cancer from German Cancer-Science Council, has the capacity of treating Prostate Cancer.

Experts at the University of Goettingen revealed, according to some laboratory tests, a substance known as tectorigenin, extracted from the roots of the flower, Belamcanda chinensis, had proven to be highly helpful in putting an end to the spread of cancerous cells.

While the test was carried out in animal cells that contain cancer, it was learnt that using of tectorigenin (Belamcanda chinensis) is very helpful in stopping the growth of cancer.

The flowers of Belamcanda chinensis quite resembles to those of lily. These plants grow in the gardens of temperate regions as perennials. However in China, these plants grow as wild ones. The repost also reveal that the Korean and Chinese medicines come packed in with the extract of these plants.

The scientists expect to conduct more studies on this topic as they want to know if this  substance could be used as medicine in men for stopping the spread of prostate cancer.
