In yet another case of a false alternative 'medicine practitioner' being barred from practicing either Ayurveda or sidha, the sad, but quite prevalent scenario of quacks practising alternative therapies in our country has come to light.
Although, the Madras High Court has granted bail to Vijayakumar and barred his practice, the fact that he has already been implicated in 20 such cases and has got bail in three of them can not be overlooked.

All medicines have chemicals in them which result in the therapeutic effect. These chemicals are called active ingredient of the medicine. Kenya does not have any law that governs herbal medicines on the basis of the active ingredients they contain. As a result, many herbalists make their own formulations and claim to treat diseases posing a serious health problem to the country as a whole.
