The theory of Homeopathy was invented by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in the year 1790. Born in 1755, Samuel was a German physician who accomplished his doctorate in the year 1779. The theory triggered into his mind while he was studying a material medica and was translating the same into German language.  While working on it, he came across the reference of cinchona bark, a medicine that was quite frequently used for malaria. Dr. Samuel wondered that the bitterness could not be the only reason for prescribing this particular medication in malaria as there were other bitter drugs available but were not prescribed in this sort of illness.

Homeopathy is one of the ways of treating illness of a patient. It is actually derived from the conjunction of two Greek words, ‘Homios’ which denotes LIKE and ‘pathos’ which denotes illness or suffering. This philosophy of treatment was first propounded by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in 1790.
