‘Rites that can improve the quality of life’
 
Indian traditions are highly enriched by various rites called sanskars. The sanskars are scientific and systematic rituals that are performed time to time to uplift the quality of life socially and spiritually. These sanskars begin pre-birth end post death.

This sanskar is performed in the fifth or seventh year. The ear lobe is pierced. The acupuncturists suggest that ear lobe is the acupuncture point for vision and that ear piercing may have therapeutic value.

This sanskar is carried out at either first or 3rd year of the birth. The sanskar is done to uplift intelligence and EQ. This lays emphasis on Shikha (tonsure). A tuff of hair over head and all other hair are removed.
